The burgers are allways great! The truffle one is my fave! Bar atmosphere and a cool out door space in the summer. The train station newly renovated is an awesome view from the booth by the front door. I love brick town area because it's usually less congested. Service was excruciating slow but the manager made it right!
Great food and attentive staff. Highly recommended. They do tend to run out of items though.
I like Mercury. I hit this place up about once every couple of months. This time, it was around 3:00 in the afternoon for a late lunch/early dinner. They have a limited selection of draught beer, but they usually have one or two unique ones on the menu. I ordered the Maurice Salad. I have been on a roll lately with Maurice Salads. This one was very good and large. It was a perfect size since I wasn't planning to eat dinner. The dressing was really good and they had chopped hardboiled eggs (which is normal, but so many places either serve it as 1/4s, or sliced - I like them chopped). The place was not busy, but kind of light for a Friday at 3:00and the service was attentive. See you in November!
I don't eat burgers very often these days, so when I do, I want it to be worth it and this place definitely is. I used to come here fairly regularly when I worked nearby, so I'm kind of surprised I had never written a review. We visited on a beautiful summer day, so we wanted to sit outside on the spacious patio. It's nothing fancy, but it was perfect for our needs. At first, there was some confusion over which server was covering our table, but after that was resolved, we were well taken care of by Hannah. I went for the French Onion burger, which is exactly what it sounds like and was quite delicious. My wife is an olive lover, so she went for their Flint burger. As you can see in the photo, there was no shortage of olives! We also enjoyed an order of onion rings. Definitely a spot to check out when you're spending time in Corktown!
We finally made it to try this place out. I ordered the French onion burger and it was cooked exactly how I like. Unfortunately, my seasoned fries were cold and really not much flavor. I didn't see any spices or seasoning on them either. After a couple of drinks and the other half of my burger packed up to go, we thanked Katie for her friendly and kind service then left. Decent but not epic
I grew up about 10 miles from Mercury and couldn't wait until I was old enough go inside for a burger & beer. Here we are 50 years later and this place is still as great as it has always been. Figured it's about time to post a Yelp review!! With the train station refurbish, I'm positive the Mercury's reputation will forever shine for another 50 years!! One of the best places to dine along Michigan Ave.!!
My nephew & niece took my sister & me to the Mercury Burger Bar for an early Mothers Day. It's one of their favorite places. I liked the kind of new bar feel of the place, and the aroma of the burgers was amazing. I got the juicy burger, after my niece had described it. It seemed small, but it turned out that I could only eat half -- perhaps because of all the cheese! My sister & I also shared an order of poutine, which I'd had only once before. This was good, but we both agreed that it still needed a bit of ketchup for contrast. I would definitely go back if I was in the area.
A Corktown classic, Mercury Burger Bar is always a reliable stop for a good meal and drink. I had the Chicken Sandwich which was cooked perfectly and tater tots that were seasoned perfectly as well. The service was fine and the food came out pretty quickly. I even tried a canned sangria that I will be ordering for my summer parties from now on!
I've wanted to hit this place up for years. I found out about their grilled bologna sandwich. Order the sandwich with no sides but I did add Mayo. When it was served I honestly was underwhelmed. It looked small and sparse. I didn't Oder any sides or add ons. WOW! So delicious and satisfying. the thin slices of bologna are crisp like bacon. The pickles and crushed Better Made chips set it off. I probably didn't need the Mayo too much Mayo. Next time I will order the cowboy candy. Friendly service and a fun, chill environment. Looking forward to trying a burger.
